Care at Airport Chiropractic is designed to help your body repair itself correctly and fully as you go through a three-phase plan. This plan can help bring you substantial relief from neck and back pain in Des Moines, IA. If you’re in pain when you come to us, our immediate objective will be to reduce your pain so you can start feeling better as quickly as possible. Living with any pain, such as back pain in Des Moines, IA, can be a hindrance to your life. Don't wait to seek care!
Once we begin a treatment program, you can expect to receive chiropractic care or adjustments two to three times per week for four to 12 weeks. The severity of your underlying condition may lead us to modify this plan.
Generally, you will go through three general phases of chiropractic care.
The main goal during our first phase of treatment is to reduce your pain and symptoms and provide back and neck pain relief Des Moines, IA locals can recommend. This period may require daily visits or two to three visits per week. Finally experiencing relief, such as neck pain relief in Des Moines IA, can help you feel like yourself again.
However, once your pain is reduced you cannot assume there's nothing wrong. The fact is that pain is a poor indicator of health and often only appears once a disease or condition is advanced.
Think of it like a tooth cavity. It doesn't hurt when it first develops, but it's still there, damaging your tissue. Only in the late stages does it cause pain.
Similarly, when you start your chiropractic care, your pain will likely be the first symptom to disappear, but the underlying condition remains. That brings us to phase 2 of your treatment plan.
In phase 2 of your treatment plan, your muscles and other tissues begin to heal more completely - an essential step in preventing another injury or additional pain.
Phase 2 treatments typically require chiropractic care or adjustments four to eight times a month for six months to two years.
Ultimately, we want to return your body to 100% of its functioning capacity, but to do that we need to move beyond mere pain relief, which is the easiest part of your care program. While you will not be receiving as many adjustments as during your first phase, you may be doing exercises and stretches at home or at our center to help promote your healing.
Don't be surprised if there are occasional mild flare-ups in your symptoms, because your body has not yet fully healed. We'll help you work through them and move you toward our phase 3 care.
In phase 3, chiropractic maintenance helps you remain healthy and strong. You will make a quick visit to our offices one to four times a month as we make periodic adjustments designed to help you avoid future problems.
As with maintaining an exercise program or a healthy diet, making routine chiropractic care a part of your lifestyle ensures the health of your body and its musculoskeletal system. You will avoid joint issues and other aches and pains for years to come!
